There's such an amazing, diverse spectrum of people who love coming to the drum circle whenever they can, and each for their own reasons...

What's yours?

the awesome energy that builds up over the course of a night

how each week is always different

wild dancers dancing wild

that its open to all kinds of people and all levels of drummers

when a beat gels and peaks and everyone goes nuts.

when a beat turns itself inside out and everyone stays with it
like those crowded flocks of birds that swoop and turn like single organism. no one is leading - everyone is together. order meets chaos.

that it's such a random & diverse tribe/community of people from all over toronto with different cultural backgrounds & musical tastes all
playing together.

all the amazing people i've met, fascinating conversations i've had, and all the lessons i've learned.

dazzling poi artistry

playing outside in the open air. sweet tbp!

howling, singing, screaming with joy.

ohm circles.

that strangers stop to enjoy it and then come
back week after week.

that it is people-powered party, no batteries required.

that a lot of the people who were there at the start of this drum circle are still regulars now.

that what we do is THOUSANDS of years old.

there's lots more, but that's a good start. what about you?

see you soon!

H4F!

what's hot is what that tim guy wrote,

hear hear!

i would add:

the freewheeling carnival atmosphere

the ecstatic smiles everywhere by the end of the night

the photographers and their amazing work

the simplicity and universality of it - like a musical version of soccer....

two more things -

the joy of being part of a flowing, dynamic, unpredictable, ever-changing piece of performance art - participating in a metaphor for life.

hearing drumming as storytelling, with many individual voices, from the world over, conversing together

Drum circle is fantastic, fluidic fun.
A free gathering of like-minded individuals from all walks of life.
We are artists, musicians, dancers, friends, and family.
At drum circle we are all individuals, yet part of a collective whole.
Even indoors, you can still feel the warmth of summer's firespinners, the passion of weaving beats under the stars.. the hundreds of friends who come and go..
Every week is a festival, and whether out or indoors, we have a wonderful, wild time.
...and despite all of the people, despite spinning chains and fire, despite the staves and late nights... we're all completely peaceful.

There is never any violence, as we are all friends.

We are all connected through a heartbeat-- a pulse.

The call of the drum.

It's a great group of people to play with; beautiful energy flows, and there is no fear of being ridiculous - respect for the music and dance is almost always there, and it is lighthearted at the same time. How wonderful to recharge the batteries by draining them!!! I learn from all of you.

Here you have an assembly of very nice and friendly people of all walks of life. We are of all ages, Teens to Seniors, Women and Men , and every Race and Culture.
Why ? Because we love the Drum Beat!
We are called to it. We hear it and we want to be a part of it. We want to play the drum. We want to Dance and move to the sound. We want to share the Happiness , We want to see the Smiles on peoples faces .
We want to see the Shine in their eyes, as they experience this feeling.
We lead and follow and yet we work together to create a wonderful, musical and spiritual event. The magic that happens all by itself is truly amazing.
A gathering of people that accepts everyone, novice and expert.
We're not interested in what clothes you wear or what you look like or how much money you have. Not important. We accept you for being you.
